Sasja Houba (2002) is a multidisciplinary artist and designer who expresses herself through graphic design, artistic research, and ceramics. In her work, she explores the relationship between humans, culture, and nature while incorporating practical and recognizable elements to make these themes more accessible to the public. Through this approach, she aims to raise awareness of the small, often overlooked or underappreciated aspects of our immediate surroundings.

Through graphic design, she translates her findings into printed matter and publications, driven by a passion for riso and silkscreen print. Ceramics offer her a more dynamic and tangible way to explore these themes, serving as a tool to step out of her head and work intuitively.

How to Practice Paradise (installation)

How to Practice Paradise is my graduation project and invites visitors to see their outdoor spaces as more than just extensions of their homes. By weaving together art, history, and personal stories, this work explores the elements that transform an ordinary garden into a vision of paradise, and investigates how the modern human revives the ‘lost paradise’ in their own backyard.

This sculpture emerged from my visual research into iron fences (see: Fancy Fences), transforming these observations into a tangible form. By blending various patterns and shapes discovered during this exploration.
